The recent High Court ruling in the UK resulting from the Highly Skilled Forum
Judicial Review affects certain people who formerly had leave in the UK under
the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP). You may be covered by this ruling
if you joined HSMP under the arrangements which were in place until the scheme
was suspended on 7 November 2006 and you either:
a) applied for and were refused further leave to remain under the new extension
rules which came into force on 5 December 2006, and subsequently left the UK,
or
b) left the UK after 7 November 2006 without ever applying for further leave to
remain under the new rules.
A policy document which explains in detail who is affected by the ruling
is available on the UK Border Agency website.
Forms, guidance and information on supporting documents for those overseas who
think they are affected by the ruling and who wish to apply for entry
clearance to return to the UK as a highly skilled migrant are being prepared

Customers with disabilities
There is space for wheelchair transfer from a vehicle in front of the
building. The elevator is at the same level as the floor. On the 6th floor,
there is easy access for wheelchair users from the elevator to the offices. The
elevator buttons are accessible and are very easy to reach while sitting in the
wheel chair and the security guard can attend to you if required. There are
washrooms within the application centre for people with disabilities. If staff
are made aware in advance of the arrival of visitors with disabilities they
will give them assistance and priority will be given in the event of an
emergency or evacuation from the building.

Visa Processing Times
We aim to operate a fast and effective entry clearance service. If an
applicant is applying for a visit visa and has travelled previously to the UK,
USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand within the last 5 years and has evidence
of this travel they may use the Fast Track facility. Fast track applications
are normally resolved within 4 working days, including the day of application.
We aim to process all other non-settlement applications within 15 working days.
If you are applying to settle in the UK, in most cases we aim to process your
application within 12 weeks.
Please note that these processing times can change, therefore applicants are
advised to submit their visa applications in good time but no more than 3
months in advance of their intended date of travel.
